Rich May Announces Leadership Change

By:

Rich May announces that Stephen M. Kane has stepped down as President of the firm and that Jeffrey B. Loeb has been elected to succeed him in that role.

“I am honored to have been selected by the Board to succeed Steve in this role.  His will be very tough shoes to fill and that will be made easier by the fact that he will still be in the office next to mine” said Loeb.  He added, “We owe Steve a debt of gratitude for all that he has done over the 16+ years that he’s been President of the firm.  Steve guided us through the internet bubble, a recession, and a pandemic and we are bigger, stronger, more profitable, and more diverse than we were when he took on the role.  Under Steve’s guidance we have morphed from a firm known for its business and energy practices to a full service firm with robust corporate, energy, investment banking, litigation, and real estate practices.”

“We have been fortunate to have benefited from Steve Kane’s leadership over these past 16 years,” said Managing Director Emmett Lyne. “Our firm has thrived with huge thanks to Steve. Steve is not only an outstanding lawyer and CEO, he is a close friend.”

Both Steve and Jeff will continue their practices and to service their clients.  In Steve’s practice he operates as general counsel for many of his clients, working with them to find practical solutions that work from a business perspective.  Jeff’s focus is commercial and real estate litigation.  His clients rely upon him to vigorously represent their interests in court, including state and federal courts both within and beyond Massachusetts.

“I am very happy that Steve will be continuing his vibrant legal practice,” said Lyne. “I am also excited that Jeff Loeb will serve as our next President. Jeff is the ideal successor. He is a tremendous lawyer, with valued expertise in legal ethics and best practices. Jeff brings wisdom, empathy, and ambition to the role of President, and we are lucky to have him.”
