Rich May Congratulates Client Tools for Schools Partnership, Inc. on Receipt of 501(c)(3) Status

Tools for Schools Partnership, Inc. is a newly formed non-profit organization with the charitable goal of providing supply donations to schools in need around the globe.

Bowdoin College friends-turned-philanthropists David H. Barnes, John R. Hickling, Peter G. Larcom, and Daniel B. Spears are avid international travelers. Instead of dropping off one-time individual donations, the group aims to establish partnerships that create an enduring impact at schools abroad. They are joined as initial Directors by Daniel’s son, Wiley M. Spears.

Tools for Schools Partnership, Inc. builds upon the experience of Bowdoin Bound ? a 501(c)(3) non-profit operated since 2002 that introduces Baltimore’s inner city youth to educational opportunities that exist beyond the confines of their community. Each summer the non-profit brings more than 30 students up to Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine for a week of camp and/or educational activities. Program alumni often choose to give back to the city of Baltimore including serving as mentors to the next generation.

Rich May, P.C. attorneys Emmett Lyne, Nathaniel Donoghue, and Jennifer Lang assisted the client to form the new corporate entity and apply for non-profit status. As a public charity, the non-profit is exempt from federal income tax and donors can deduct charitable contributions. We are proud to support a variety of non-profits in our legal practice, and we are excited to see Tools for Schools Partnership, Inc. make a difference!
