On February 10, 2021, Rich May attorney Atakelti Desta will speak at a program hosted by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) titled “Easements, Restrictions, Partitions & Boundary Disputes.” The program will cover essential concepts and practice pointers related to easements and their relationship with other customary land use and enjoyment rights. Atakelti will discuss common issues that arise in condominiums, subdivisions, and water-adjacent properties, including:
- Consequences of failing to properly create an easement or specify its intended scope
- How to avoid unintentionally creating an easement
- Maintenance and repair of common areas and facilities
- Disputes over beach access rights
