John Cashell is an associate whose practice focuses primarily on commercial real estate transactions, with additional experience in corporate and business matters. He represents property owners, developers, investors and businesses in acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, financing and refinancing transactions, and other matters involving the ownership and operation of commercial real estate.
John’s real estate experience includes negotiating purchase and sale agreements, leases and other transaction documents; structuring entities used to acquire, own and manage real estate; reviewing title and financing documents; and advising clients in connection with 1031 exchanges, ownership restructurings and other transactional matters.
In addition to his real estate practice, John advises closely held and emerging businesses on entity formation and structuring, corporate governance, reorganizations, ownership and succession matters, commercial contracts and other general corporate matters.
Prior to joining Rich May, John practiced in the real estate and corporate groups of a Boston-area law firm. He also spent several years as in-house counsel in the telecommunications industry, where he negotiated and managed a high volume of transactions nationwide, including acquisitions, ground leases, easements, lease amendments and other matters involving real property interests supporting telecommunications infrastructure.
