Rich May was established in Boston in 1937 by John J. Burns and Ned Brandon. Learn more about the firm’s history.

Burns served as the first general counsel of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and was also a Harvard Law professor and judge. Brandon served as an SEC regional administrator and later as the U.S. Attorney in Boston.

Since its founding, Rich May has represented businesses and corporate clients, individuals, trusts, and nonprofit organizations throughout the United States and abroad. Today, the firm’s attorneys advise clients across a broad range of legal matters, including business, corporate and securities matters, litigation and dispute resolution, energy, renewables and regulated industries, commercial real estate, investment management, and estate planning, tax and probate.
