Stephen M. Kane

Stephen M. KaneStephen M. Kane is a Managing Director and member/shareholder of the firm. Mr. Kane is Chair of the Corporate and Securities Practice Group and concentrates on corporate, commercial, securities and financial matters. He is a graduate of Roxbury Latin School, Columbia College (B.A.) and Columbia University Law School (J.D.). His complex and diverse practice embraces all aspects of the organization and operation of corporations and other business ventures, securities law, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, intellectual property, employee relations and compensation, finance, lending and real estate. He represents corporations, investors and entrepreneurs in numerous industries including the health care, software, venture capital, construction and video interactive technology industries. Mr. Kane serves as Assistant Secretary to a number of companies. He is a member of the American, Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations, and served as a member of the Business Law Section Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association. From 2004-2007 Mr. Kane has been awarded the highest ranking by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory (AV – Legal Ability Rating: Very High to Preeminent). Mr. Kane lives with his wife Cindy and their three children in Newton, Massachusetts. He is active in the community, served as President and on the Board of Directors of Newton North Little League, was a member of the Board of Directors of Newton Girls Basketball Association and coached several youth sports teams. Mr. Kane is also President of the Columbia University Club of New England.

In 2005, 2006 and 2007 Stephen M. Kane was named a “Super Lawyer” by Boston Magazine. He was one of several Rich May attorneys selected by an independent blue ribbon committee as a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer.” Award recipients were selected based on ballots mailed to over 37,000 attorneys statewide asking Massachusetts attorneys to vote for those lawyers who represent the best of the legal profession.
