Rich May Client’s Documentary Premieres in New York

Filmmaker Kate Churchill, a client of Rich May, is set to screen her first feature documentary, Enlighten Up!, in New York City at the IFC Center. The film premieres in New York on April 1st, and will then continue to run in cities throughout the country. Both Churchill and the film’s star, Nick Rosen, will answer questions following select New York showings on April 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th. In the film, Churchill strives to prove that yoga can transform anyone. Her story follows disbeliever Rosen, a 29 year-old journalist from New York City, as he explores yoga and its benefits. Throughout the documentary, the production team circles the globe talking to celebrity teachers, entrepreneurs, mystics, gurus, mad men and saints, searching for the true meaning of yoga. Enlighten Up! premiered in Boston in September 2008, and has since received high praise. In his review for the New York Times, writer Nathan Lee said, “As the title indicates, ‘Enlighten Up!’ explores its subject with a light touch and welcome sense of humor.” Ronnie Scheib of Variety Magazine added that Kate Churchill created “an interesting dual viewpoint and a fascinating tug-of-war for control of her film…this simultaneously tongue-in-cheek and reverential documentary will entertain the unenlightened without alienating the faithful.” For more information on the film, visit http://enlightenupthefilm.com/.
