INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE OF LAW FIRMS CONVENES IN BOSTON

October 1, 2009 (Boston MA)…The International Alliance of Law Firms (“the Alliance”) is holding its 15th Annual Meeting of the Americas in Boston, from October 1 -3, 2009.

Boston law firm Rich May is hosting 50 attorneys from across the world for the annual conference. During the three day meeting, the delegates will collaborate on best practices to serve their clients in cross-border transactions, consider expansion of the Alliance, attend practice group sessions for Litigation and Energy practice areas and engage in cultural exchange.

“We are pleased to host the Alliance’s Meeting of the Americas in Boston” said Rich May’s Managing Director, Eric Krathwohl. “The Alliance allows our clients access to some of the best law firms in the world. The relationships we build at these meetings give us confidence that our clients will get the best service and expertise when we refer them to Alliance members.”

Alliance Chairperson Monica Oathout, of the Texas-based firm Schwartz Junell, adds, “In Boston we’ll have attorneys from nearly every continent. Increasingly, clients are looking to work with local mid-sized firms who have a high-quality network of affiliates in other countries rather than multi-national mega-firms. The Alliance has high standards for admission and a strong culture of collaboration among member firms.”

Formed in 1990, the International Alliance of Law Firms is a global affiliation of select laws firms. The Alliance offers clients that have multi-national legal matters an alternative to working with expensive global law firms. The Alliance provides a network of high-quality independent firms that work closely together to meet the needs of our clients at the local level.

The Alliance consists of 55 law firms from 37 countries who can provide representation in most of the major cities in the world. Each member of the Alliance is an independent law firm and it, not the Alliance itself, is responsible for the work it carries out. Alliance member firms are typically top ranked, medium-sized firms that have a strong reputation for their service to corporations of all sizes. www.ialawfirms.co.uk
