Mark C. O'ConnorMark C. O’Connor is a member/shareholder of the firm. Mr. O’Connor is an experienced trial attorney representing clients in a wide range of complex business and commercial matters, providing aggressive and cost-effective representation of clients before federal and state trial courts, government agencies and boards, and arbitration proceedings. Mr. O’Connor has represented a broad range of clients, from publicly traded corporations to closely-held businesses and entrepreneurial individuals, in many areas of commercial law, including contract disputes, real estate matters, business torts, employment law, intellectual property, telecommunications, environmental, collections, insurance coverage, trusts and estates, and bankruptcy.


Mr. O’Connor also represents employers and employees in all types of litigation involving all aspects of the employment relationship and in a wide variety of employment matters, including, wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, breach of employment contract, failure to pay wages, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, severances, reductions in force, termination and discipline.


Mr. O’Connor represents and counsels individuals in a wide variety of personal matters and areas including family and domestic matters, partnerships, closely held corporations, limited liability companies, real estate, probate and estate matters, personal injury, and students or minors facing school suspension or school expulsion.


Mr. O’Connor received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Boston College Law School in 1983 and graduated cum laude in 1978 from the College of the Holy Cross. Mr. O’Connor is a Member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association. Mr. O’Connor has been admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts, the United States Tax Court, and other state and federal courts on a pro hac vice basis. Mr. O’Connor has been an active participant in the Massachusetts Boston Municipal Court ADR Program, administered by the Boston Bar Association, and as a Trial Court Conferencer for the Boston Municipal Court. Mr. O’Connor has also been appointed as an Arbitrator by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Consumer Affairs, and has arbitrated numerous motor vehicle disputes. He is an Adjunct Professor at Boston College teaching a course in Trial Advocacy and trial skills. Mr. O’Connor coaches Boston College’s Mock Trial team in the Regional and National Mock Trial Tournaments sponsored by the American Mock Trial Association.


Mr. O’Connor currently and has for many years judged the Massachusetts High School Mock Trials sponsored by the Massachusetts Bar Association. Prior to judging, Mr. O’Connor coached high school students competing in the Massachusetts mock trials.


For a number of years he was a Member of the President’s Council for the College of the Holy Cross. In 1998, Mr. O’Connor was the Chairperson of the Parent Fund Raising Committee at Noble & Greenough School. He is a member of the Lincoln Forum, the Abraham Lincoln Society and Museum, the Illinois State Historical Society, the Wisconsin Historical Society, and the Churchill Center and New England Churchillian. Mr. O’Connor served a single term as a Housing Authority Trustee for the Town of Medfield, Massachusetts.


Mark C. O’Connor was named Massachusetts Super Lawyer in 2005 and 2006 for business litigation, according to Super Lawyers, a joint publication of Boston Magazine and Law & Politics. His peers in Boston and throughout Massachusetts individually selected Mr. O’Connor as an outstanding trial attorney and legal counsel.
