Jeffrey B. Loeb
Jeffrey
B. Loeb is a shareholder of the firm who focuses on business litigation
and real estate, with significant experience in the areas of general
civil litigation and business and commercial law, as well. Mr. Loeb
received his B.A. from Yale University in 1982 and his J.D., cum laude,
from Boston College Law School in 1985. He is admitted in the courts of
Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of
Massachusetts, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United
States Tax Court. He has been admitted pro hac vice in the United
States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States
Bankruptcy Court for the Districts of Connecticut, Delaware, New
Hampshire, Ohio and Rhode Island, and state courts in New Jersey and
Florida. He has tried cases in all levels of the state courts and in
the United States District Court and the Bankruptcy Court. He has
argued appeals in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Loeb is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar Association
(Secretary 2003-2004; Treasurer 2004-2005; MBA House of Delegates,
1993-1994, 1995-1997, 2002-2004, 2005-2009; Budget & Finance
Committee 1994-2005, 2006-2009; Executive Management Board 2002-2005,
2006-2007; Policy and Governance Committee 2002-2004; Chair, Young
Lawyers Division 1993-1994) as well as a member of the American Bar
Association, the Salem Bar Association, the Essex County Bar
Association (Member, Board of Directors, 1994—2003), Massachusetts
Association of Trial Attorneys and The Association of Trial Lawyers of
America.
Mr. Loeb has been a frequent lecturer and contributor for continuing
legal education programs run by the Massachusetts Bar Association and
Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (“MCLE”). He has lectured on
Chapter 93A (the Massachusetts consumer protection act) at MCLE’s
annual Practical Skills Seminar. He is the co-author of the chapter on
appeals from the District Court in MCLE’s publication on appellate
practice and procedure.
Mr. Loeb lives in Ipswich with his wife and 3 children. He has been an
elected member of the Ipswich School Committee since 1995. He served as
Chair from 1999 to 2001, 2006 to 2007, and 2009 to 2010. He was a
member of the Building Committee that oversaw the construction of
Ipswich’s new High School/Middle School. He was also active in Ipswich
Youth Soccer, serving as both a coach and Travel Director.
Jeffrey B. Loeb was named by his peers one of the elite lawyers in
Massachusetts in 2005, 2006 and 2008, according to Super Lawyers, a
joint publication of Boston Magazine and Law & Politics. In
addition, he has an “av” rating from Martindale.
