Howard
L. Levin, a Shareholder of Rich May, concentrates on commercial real estate and business
law. Mr. Levin is a graduate of Duke University School of Law (J.D.,
1978) and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (B.A., magna cum
laude, 1975). He represents owners, developers and lenders in
connection with a wide range of real estate development, acquisitions
and sales, title, leasing, zoning, land use, subdivision control,
finance and creditors’ rights matters. Mr. Levin represents clients
before planning and zoning boards throughout Massachusetts, including
appeals in state and federal courts. He has extensive experience in
telecommunications facility siting under local, state and federal laws,
including the Telecommunications Act of 1996. He represents landlords
and tenants in connection with office, retail and restaurant leases.
Mr. Levin advises emerging and established business enterprises from
formation to public offering, including formation of corporations and
limited liability companies, corporate finance, intellectual property,
contracts and succession planning. Clients have included companies
engaged in software, biotechnology, photonics, telecommunications, and
motion picture content distribution. He has served as general counsel
to entrepreneurs engaged in real estate, technology, service and
manufacturing ventures. He presently serves as a Mentor for the MIT
Venture Mentoring Service. Mr. Levin also serves as a member of the
Political Science Advisory Board at the University of Massachusetts at
Amherst. He is a member of the Massachusetts and Boston Bar
Associations; Real Estate Bar Association; and The Abstract Club. Mr.
Levin is a past Chairman of the Real Estate Section of the Boston Bar
Association, past Chairman of the Condominium and Cooperative Law
Committee, and is currently active in several Boston Bar Association
committees. Mr. Levin served as an appointee of the Massachusetts Land
Court to a task force responsible for revision of Registered Land
Regulations, and is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education
programs. Mr. Levin is active in community affairs and various
charitable organizations. He lives with his wife and children in
Lexington, Massachusetts.

publication of Boston Magazine and Law & Politics. His peers in
