BiographyHoward L. Levin, a member/shareholder of the firm, concentrates on commercial real estate and business law and chairs the Commercial Real Estate Practice Group. Mr. Levin is a graduate of Duke University School of Law (J.D., 1978) and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (B.A., magna cum laude, 1975). He represents owners, developers, tenants and lenders in connection with a wide range of real estate development, acquisition and sale, title, leasing, zoning, land use, subdivision control, finance and creditors’ rights matters. Mr. Levin represents clients before planning and zoning boards throughout Massachusetts, including appeals in state and federal courts. He represents landlords and tenants in connection with office, retail, restaurant and franchise leases. He has extensive experience in telecommunications facility siting under local, state and federal laws, including the Telecommunications Act of 1996. Mr. Levin also advises emerging and established business enterprises, including formation of corporations and limited liability companies, corporate finance, intellectual property, contracts and succession planning. He has served as general counsel to entrepreneurs and mature companies engaged in real estate, technology, service, and manufacturing ventures. Clients have included companies engaged in retail, hospitality and multi-family development, retail sales, restaurants, hotels, health clubs, software, biotechnology, telecommunications, and motion picture content distribution. He is active in community affairs and various charitable organizations and lives with his wife and children in Lexington, Massachusetts.
