Rich May Client, Michael Hogan, Named CEO of Makepeace
Michael P. Hogan, the influential head of the state’s economic development agency, Massachusetts Development Finance Agency, has been named president and CEO of A.D. Makepeace Co. Mr. Hogan is a client of Rich May, a Professional Corporation. The A.D. Makepeace Company is the largest private landowner in Massachusetts, the largest grower-owner of Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. and one of the world’s oldest and most respected cranberry growers. At Makepeace, Hogan will manage the continued integration of the company’s core businesses to optimize the value of the Company’s landholdings and agricultural assets.
Mr. Hogan’s leadership of Mass. Development included financing 2,500 projects worth more than $9 billion over the past eight years. Hogan was key to a number of high-profile redevelopment projects throughout Massachusetts.
“We believe Mr. Hogan’s extensive management, finance, and real estate expertise will enable the Company to build on its recent successes and help the A.D. Makepeace Co. create additional value for its shareholders,” said Christopher Makepeace, president and CEO, in a statement. On June 16, 2003, Mr. Makepeace announced plans to retire at the end of 2003, after 33 years with the Company. Mr. Makepeace has held his current position since 1991 and will remain on the company’s board of directors.
