Rich May client, Cymfony, closes $7.4 million venture round

Rich May, a Professional Corporation, a Boston business law firm, represented media analysis software company, Cymfony, Inc, in connection with the closing of $7.4 million in private financing. Cymfony has developed technology that identifies and extracts business intelligence information from unstructured documents. Cymfony’s Brand Dashboard™ product helps companies and organizations analyze their own and competitor’s media coverage. “Our dashboard line of products have received excellent acceptance in our initial target markets,” said Cymfony CEO Andrew Bernstein. “The funding will be critical for expanding our product portfolio based on market demands as well as building out our professional services, channel management and sales teams.”

Investors include Hearst Interactive Media and Trident Capital. Cymfony is headquartered in Newton, MA, with offices in Williamsville, NY and Bangalore, India. The company currently employs 53 professionals. Cymfony’s significant technical strength stems from its 38 technology professionals, including 10 Ph.D.s, with extensive experience in NLP, information retrieval and machine learning technologies.
